09 Days Tanzania Camping Safari (P.Camping 1)

Day 01 Arrival
You will be met at the airport in Arusha (JRO) by your Driver/Guide and our representative. We will take you to the L’ Oasis Lodge or sim. in Arusha for a safari briefing by our operations manager who will meet you there. Dinner included.

Day 02 Lake Manyara
The driver/guide will pick you up at 8am, then you’ll drive across the floor of the Great Rift Valley to Lake Manyara National Park for a game drive. This beautiful park with it’s lush vegetation and tropical forests of giant fig and mahogany trees, takes its name from the Maasai word for “euphorbia tirucalli”, a bush which is used to make a thorny hedge to protect their cattle. Elephant, giraffe, buffalo, zebra and a variety of antelope inhabit the park as well as a variety of monkeys and a large population of hippo’s. If you are lucky you may see the Manyara lions, well known for their tree climbing habits, lazily resting on the branches of an “Acacia tortilis” tree. The birdlife is also abundant, with flamingoes, pelicans, hornbills and plenty of forest species.

Day 03 Lake Manyara -Olduvai Gorge-Serengeti
After breakfast you start on your way to Serengeti National Park. A picnic lunch will be provided. On the way you will stop at the Olduvai Gorge where anthropologists Louis and Mary Leakey made many significant discoveries, contributing to the theory that human life originated in Africa. After stopping for your picnic lunch on a kopje (rock outcropping) in Serengeti you will continue further into the park and go on a game drive. Overnight at a public campsite at Central Serengeti. Day 04 Serengeti
Early morning game drive to see also nocturnal predators returning from hunting and animals waking up in early morning light followed by full day of game drives around Serengeti. Depending on the time of year and the migration of the herds you can expect to see wildebeest, lions, elephants, giraffes, zebras, monkeys, baboons, hippos, rhinos, antelopes and many birds and other species. Your Driver/Guide will be in contact with other safari drivers and will amaze you with his skill at locating the hidden animals.

Day 05 Serengeti – Lake Ndutu,
After breakfast you start on your way to Southern Serengeti by crossing Central Serengeti until reaching Ndutu Area for game driving around Lake Ndutu where the ‘Great Migration’ gathers during the month of Dec through April for their foaling and calving season.
Overnight at Simba Campsite at Ngorongoro Crater Rim. All meals included.

Day 06 Ngorongoro
After breakfast we depart for Ngorongoro a wonderful game drive (with a picnic lunch) inside the Ngorongoro Crater often described as one of the wonders of the world. It is the world’s largest intact volcanic caldera and a natural sanctuary for some of Africa’s densest animal populations. It is one of the few places where the rare black rhino can be observed in their natural setting. As very few animals migrate in and out of the crater with its 2000 ft. high walls, you can expect to see lions, elephants, zebras, hippos, flamingos, jackals, rhinos, antelopes, many birds and other species. With a bit of luck the ‘Big Five’ can be spotted during one game drive only

Day 07 Lake Eyasi

From Ngorongoro you proceed to Lake Eyasi home to the hunter-gathers ethnic group of the Hadzabe Bushmen bearing similar characteristics to those of Bushmen at Southern Africa. The small people of this indigenous tribe are probably the last living in true harmony with nature and have a wealth of Fauna and Flora knowledge to share with us. Around Lake Eyasi you will also visit the remotely living Datoga Tribe famous for their The day is filled with visits and cultural encounters around Lake Eyasi until you enjoy a beautiful sunset at the banks of Lake Eyasi.

Day 08 Tarangire
Early morning you go on a game walk guided by bushmen taking you on their traditional hunting tracks.
Afterwards we depart for Tarangire, Tanzania’s third largest national park and sanctuary for an unusually large elephant population. Majestic baobab trees are an interesting feature of the park, dwarfing the animals that feed beneath them. Animals concentrate along the Tarangire River, which provides the only permanent water supply in the area. There is a great diversity of wildlife including lion, leopard, cheetah and up to six thousand elephant.

Day 09 Tarangire – Arusha
Early morning game drive to see also nocturnal predators returning from hunting and animals waking up in early morning light. After Lodge breakfast we take you Arusha Airport, for your flight to Zanzibar. Transfer to a beach resort of your choice. Breakfast and dinner.
